This past week, we had the privilege of having a group from Harvest Baptist Church in Indiana serving with us here in Brownsville. They were a tremendous help in the outreach here. They helped with door-knocking and follow-ups which resulted in several contacts of people searching for the truth. They also helped a lot in providing a significant amount of the food for the week! Though we were slowed down somewhat by both teams fighting sickness, we still more than tripled our regular amount of outreach! We are so very thankful that they were able to come and serve with us here!
At this point, almost every household in Brownsville has been reached with information about the Gospel and the church, and some have already been reached a second time! As we go out, many people now seem to know who we are. Some have been given John and Romans both in the downtown area events and at their house! We are still praying for people to actually come to the Sunday services.
On Monday evening, July 4th, we went to the nearest fireworks display in Jackson, TN. We were able to hand out almost 200 John and Romans with water bottles and tracts. While we were there, God gave us a clear reminder of the great need that is here! We saw many people there reveling in the sinful music that was proudly performed. Please pray for God to break the stronghold of the Devil here in this area!
Wednesday evening, like usual, was the day that reached the most people. Several people watched closely from outside the pavilion as the team from Harvest Baptist Church played their instruments, and as the special solo was being sung. There is definitely a curiosity about the uniqueness of the music that we share. This coming Wednesday, we plan to make a targeted outreach to the children at the park. Please pray for wisdom, for souls to be saved, and for families to be reached on Wednesday nights. Also, to enable us to reach more children, please pray for some lady helpers that could help us specifically on Wednesday evenings, but also on Sundays.
